Currently, the market is navigating the quiet period between the holiday season and Valentine’s Day, with uncertainties prevailing about the direction of price movements.
Significant activity was observed in both upward and downward directions for larger Round diamonds, ranging from 2.00 to 5.99 carats. Price declines were prevalent in the 0.50 to 1.99 carat range, with a notable tendency for better colors and clarities to experience reductions in prices.
The Fancies category had another month of persistent losses, particularly for diamonds ranging from 1.0 to 5.99 carats. While there were isolated instances of price increases in smaller goods, the overall trend leaned heavily towards losses outweighing gains.
