India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented US First Lady Jill Biden with a 7.5-carat lab-grown diamond during his visit to the White House, IDEX Online reports.
The Prime Minister’s Office described the gem as “a symbol of responsible luxury, representing India’s 75 years of freedom and sustainable international relations.” Emphasizing its environmentally friendly production, the diamond was created using solar and wind power. Although the gem was graded by the IGI lab, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) did not disclose specific details.
Additionally, during his three-day visit, Prime Minister Modi gifted President Joe Biden a sandalwood box symbolizing the rituals mentioned in the ancient Indian text Krishna Yajurveda’s Vaikhanas Grihya Sutram, as well as a first-edition print of The Ten Principal Upanishads.
