District New York

David Webb

David Webb Inc. is a jewelry company founded by a designer of the same name who lived from 1941 to 1975. During his lifetime, Webb turned the New York City shop he opened on 57th Street into a massive operation employing two hundred jewelers and 37 setters.

After Webb’s passing from pancreatic cancer, the company was taken over by the family Silberstein, and in 2010 new owners took the reins of the firm: Sima Ghadamian, Mark Emanuel and Robert Sadian.

Webb began his career after he moved from North Carolina to New York City at the tender age of 16 and was quickly drafted by a French financier, Antoinette Quilleret, who identified him as a young man of great talent.

Webb rapidly acquired a clientele that included a who’s who of Manhattan socialites with his nature-inspired designs. Some of the celebrities who have turned to Webb to be adorned with jewelry are Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Liz Taylor, Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez.
