Thomas Sabo Launched An Empire Of Silver Jewelry

For the last three decades, the Thomas Sabo company, working out of southern Germany, has been providing the world with distinctive jewelry. At present, the firm employs over 1,300 people in its stand-alone shops and booths in Sweden, France, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Two of the company’s best-known product lines are its watches, which it rolled out in 2009, and its charms, which now number over 3,000 separate styles. Silver is the material that Sabo’s pieces are most often crafted from. The firm’s designers, including Sabo himself and the company’s creative head Susanne Kolbli, are not shy about referencing pop culture icons. Its most recent collection is called “Karma Beads”, a reference to the positive energies that its customers may attribute to the jewelry it creates.

The firm also owns and operates a hockey club based in Nuremberg, Germany called the Ice Tigers.
