Colors
The different colors of the amethyst have several attributes, while the best color is considered the Siberian amethyst, which contains up to 80% deep purple next to shades of blue and red. Other shades include the French pinkish rose, burnt yellowish amethyst, purple and yellow amethyst and oriental amethyst, which is what jewelers call excellent crystals.
Producing countries
Many cultures attribute healing powers to the amethyst. Amethyst is a common gemstone, but high quality amethysts are very rare. It is produced mostly in Zambia, Russia, Austria, India and the United States.
