Engagement Ring

A Quick Guide to Engagement Rings for those who are Planning to Pop the Question

If you’re planning to tie the knot and pop the question anytime soon, you’d probably ‎want to involve a beautiful engagement ring in this all-important moment, and these ‎come in many different styles.‎

Gold, platinum, titanium, silver and stainless steel are all used for engagement rings. ‎In the west, and particularly the US, diamonds have featured in engagement rings ‎since the middle of the 20th century. Traditional engagement rings may have prong ‎setting and bands, and engagement rings with side stones are also vastly popular. ‎There are also trinity rings or trilogy rings, which represent the couple’s past, present, ‎and future. These feature rings with three matching diamonds set horizontally in a row ‎with the bigger stone placed in the center.‎

There is also the wedding or bridal set, which features an engagement ring and a ‎matching wedding band. The trio set includes an engagement ring, a wedding band ‎and a men’s wedding band. ‎

If you’d like a diamond in your ring, remember the Four-Cs of diamond evaluation: ‎carat, color clarity and cut. Some experts claim that the cut is the most important of ‎the four, as a great cut can render flexibility on some of the other C’s. The brilliant cut, ‎which provides the maximum amount of sparkle to the gemstone, is the favored cut ‎for modern engagement rings. Not all settings, however, can accommodate all ‎diamond shapes and sizes.‎
