Soliter Ring by Kristal Diamonds

Solitaire

Solitaire is a piece of jewelry that is set with one diamond or gemstone, usually a large stone. More often than not, the jewel is a ring which is designed in advance according to defined size and dimensions. Often, the setting is acquired at a jewelry shop without the stone, and the diamond is acquired somewhere else.

Traditionally, solitaire rings are the most popular for engagements and weddings. The most widespread are the round and princess cuts.

Solitaire wedding rings first became popular in the first half of the twentieth century: In 1939, diamond giant De Beers launched its huge advertising campaign in the United States under the slogans that have become well-known expressions; “diamonds are forever” and “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” In the wake of the campaign, solitaire rings became the symbol of marriage and the link between the loving couple. This custom, which first began in the American market, became highly popular and has been adopted by many cultures to this very day.
