GIA TO HOST DIAMOND GRADING LAB CLASS IN ISRAEL

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will conduct a Diamond Grading Lab Class at the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (ISDMA) offices in Ramat Gan. The class will be held from November 13 to November 17, 2016.

According to a press release, the Diamond Grading Lab class will be taught by experienced and qualified GIA instructors, and will combine technical and practical education in the observation and evaluation of gems. Participants work with actual gemstones, a modern gem microscope and a jeweler’s loupe to learn how to grade diamonds consistently and accurately. The class studies GIA’s Diamond Grading System; explores time-saving shortcuts to determine a variety of grading factors; and introduces methods for reading a GIA Diamond Grading Report.

Participants must pass a two-stone practical test to complete the class successfully. For more details and to sign up for the lab class, professionals may contact the GIA via email [email protected] or call +1 760-603-4001.
