According to the most recent polished diamond index, published by polishedprices, the overall polishedprices index “rallied to reach a three-month high”. On Monday, October 15, the polishedprices index stood at 120. One week later, on Monday 22, the polishedprices index stood at 121.5 – up 1.2% week-over-week.
The overall index is 5.1% above its level of this time last year, and up 4.7% since the start of the year.
According to polishedprices, almost all of the benchmark categories rose this past week except for the smaller Mixed ranges – the 0.5 carat and 0.3 carat ranges fell 1.2% and 1.7% respectively. The strongest category was the Fine 0.3 carat range, which rose 6% week-over-week.
