Lucapa Diamond Company will make an $8 million distribution and loan repayment – half the sum will be distributed to the partners in Lucapa’s Lulo mine in Angola, and the rest will be a loan repayment to Lucapa, according to IDEX Online.
Of the $4 million distributed to partners, Lucapa will receive $1.6 million – in line with its 40% interest in the mine. The total sum of $8 million will come from the cash reserves of SML, “the group which operates the Lulo alluvial mine, and of which Lucapa is a member”.
In the latest diamond sale from its Lulo mine in Angola held in November, Lucapa raked in $4.2 million from the sale of 3,411 carats. The latest sale has brought the total year-to-date sales of Lulo diamonds to $24.5 million at an average price of $1,353 per carat.
