A 1kg pure platinum coin, set with 462 fancy vivid pink diamonds from Australia’s iconic Argyle mine, is to be auctioned by the Royal Canadian Mint, IDEX Online reports.
The one-off coin is the highlight of the Royal Canadian Mint’s Opulence Collection, which features diamonds unearthed at Argyle. The mine closed in November 2020. The collection has 436 coins using a total of 46.7 carats of Argyle pinks.
The Royal Canadian Mint describes the collection as an “exclusive numismatic masterpieces of exceptional craftsmanship featuring some of the world’s rarest precious stones”.
