India’s polished diamond exports fell 13.45% year-on-year, totalling $1.93 billion, while rough imports went up 25.21% to total $1.55 billion in July, according to figures recently published by India’s GJEPC (Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council) and quoted by Rough & polished.
Gross Exports of cut & polished diamonds for April-July 2022 totaled $8.2 billion – a fall of 2.76% year-on-year. Gross Imports of rough diamonds totaled $6.5 billion in April – July 2022 – a growth of 4.57% year-on-year.
Provisional gross export of polished lab-grown diamonds for April-July 2022 totaled $622.73 million – a growth of 69.84% over the same period in 2021.
