IDEX Price Report: Round Diamonds Go Down in August

The IDEX Price Report for September 1, published by IDEX Online, shows “significant losses among rounds, as the war in Ukraine enters its seventh month.”

 

Among Round gems, all sizes over 0.50 carats suffered losses except for  “investor stones” – 5.00 carats  to 5.99 carats. The biggest losers were 1.50 carats to 2.99 carats, “which saw prices down among virtually all colors and clarities, according to the report. 

 

Among Fancy diamonds, there was “significantly less activity overall […],” and the picture was more balanced. Prices went down for 0.70 carats to 0.79 carats  and, to a lesser extent 0.80 carats  to 0.89 carats. According to the report, “there were many increases among G+ in 1.00-cts to 1.25-cts, and some among 0.30-cts-0.39-cts.”
