Diamcor Achieves $882.95 Per Carat in 2nd Venetia Tender

Diamcor, which operates the Venetia mine in South Africa, has announced the sale of 1,836.52 carats of rough diamonds during the second tender of its second fiscal quarter. The tender raked in gross revenues of $1,621,559.42, resulting in an average price of $882.95 per carat.

 

According to a press release, the overall average dollar per carat was “enhanced” by a large gem quality 59.35 carat special rough diamond. Excluding it, the results of the tender and sale was 1,777.17 carats for $425,423.42, resulting in an average price of $239.38 per carat. 

 

In total, 3,776.33 carats have now been sold in the current quarter to date, generating gross revenues of $2,099,951.32, resulting in an average price of $556.08 per carat inclusive of the 59.35 carat special rough diamond. These gross revenues in the current quarter, according to the company, represent a 276% rise year-on-year.
