Figures recently published by India’s GJEPC (Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council) and quoted by Rough & Polished show that India’s overall gross export of cut & polished diamonds went up 11.97% to $2134 million in September 2022.
Meanwhile, gross import of rough diamonds totaled $1556.05 million – a decline of 7.06% year-on-year.
Overall gross exports of cut & polished diamonds for April-September 2022 totaled $12215.46 million – a decline of 1.27% year-on-year. For the same period, overall gross Imports of cut & polished diamonds totaled $732.81 million – a growth of 1.34% year-on-year. For the same period, exports of polished lab-grown Diamonds grew 60.55% year-on-year to $943.63 million.
