De Beers’ Sights Rake In $6.12 Billion in 2022

De Beers has reported that it has raked in $410 million in its 10th and final sales cycle of the year. This figure takes De Beers’ total sales in 2022 to $6.12 billion – an increase of 21% on 2021, according to IDEX Online.

In Cycle 9, De Beers sold $454 million worth of rough diamonds.

Bruce Cleaver, CEO, De Beers Group, said: “Demand for our rough diamonds over the final sales cycle of 2022 was in line with expectations, ahead of the normal seasonal closure of polishing factories in southern Africa over the Christmas period and with Sightholders taking a prudent approach ahead of restocking after Christmas and the expected re-opening of the China market.”
