After 230 Years, UK’s Martin Wilkinson Jewellers is Closing Shop

Martin Wilkinson Jewellers, a British jewelry store chain founded in 1794 during the reign of King George III, will close its doors after almost 230 years of operation, IDEX Online reports.

 

Martin Wilkinson Jewellers, in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire “will close when owner Andrew Campin retires after 60 years of service,” according to the report. On its website, the jewelr explained: “With over 200 years’ experience we pride ourselves on our exceptional service that is professional and informative, yet personal and friendly.” all stock is now offered at 50% off as “everything must go”.

 

According to the report, Martin Wilkinson Jewellers “became renowned for servicing bomber command wrist watches during World War II.”
