US Watch and Jewelry Sales Fall for 7th Consecutive Month in August

According to the latest data from the Department of Commerce, quoted by IDEX Online, US watch and jewelry sales faced another challenging month in August, marking the seventh consecutive month of decline. 

 

Sales were down 3.4% – a slight improvement compared to July’s 4.3% and June’s 4.5% drops. In August, jewelry sales saw a 3% decrease, while watch sales experienced a 5.3% fall, resulting in an average drop of 3.4% for the month.

 

Over the past year, US watch and jewelry sales showed growth only twice, with a 1% increase in September and a 2.2% rise in January. On average, these sectors have experienced an annual decline of 3.5%, reflecting the persistent challenges they face.
