Polished diamonds on dollars

Polished diamond prices continued to decline in September

Price drops were recorded in most categories of round diamonds and fancy diamonds during September, with a few price increases in certain categories, according to the IDEX diamond price list, as reported by IDEX Online.

According to IDEX Online, consumer demand has not yet recovered, while demand for lab-grown diamonds continues to strengthen. The volume of diamond production in India shrank by almost a quarter compared to its level in August 2023, and activity remained weak in most trading centers worldwide.

The updated price list indicates that prices of round diamonds weighing 0.50 carats and above mainly recorded decreases, with fewer categories showing price increases compared to recent months.

For round diamonds, there was a mixed trend in the prices of diamonds weighing 1.50 carats and above, and limited trading in diamonds weighing up to 0.50 carats. In fancy diamond prices, there was less activity, with the dominant trend being price drops, alongside some increases in diamonds weighing 0.23 to 0.29 carats, 3 to 3.99 carats, and 5 to 5.99 carats.
