Diamond prices continued to decline in August, according to the latest monthly price report published by IDEX Online. Price reductions outnumbered increases across both round and fancy cuts, indicating that pressure remains widespread across the market.
Round diamonds showed the broadest weakness, as reported by IDEX Online, particularly in sizes ranging from 0.70 to 1.99 carats. Prices for 0.70-0.79-carat D-F, IF-VVS1 goods fell mainly by 4%-6.5%. Among 1.00-1.24-carat diamonds, D-color VVS2-VS2 goods declined by 5.5%-6.5%, while F/IF diamonds recorded a notable 5.5% increase.
Fancy cuts produced a more varied picture, as reported by IDEX Online. The strongest gains were recorded among 1.00-1.24-carat K/I2 goods, up 8.5%, and N/SI1-SI2 goods, which rose by 7%-8.5%. At 5.00-5.99 carats, L-N/I3 diamonds declined by 6%-7%.
