BONHAMS OFFERS “EXCEPTIONALLY RARE” CULLINAN DIAMONDS

Two collections of “extremely rare Fancy Vivid Yellow diamonds” will headline Bonhams London Fine Jewellery sale on December 7. Bonhams announced that both collections come “from the Cullinan family”, and that this will be the first time the coloured diamonds have come to auction.

According to the auction house, “the first important lot from the Cullinan collection is a Fancy Coloured Diamond and Diamond Brooch”, which features three step-cut Fancy Vivid Yellow diamonds, weighing 5.29, 3.11 and 2.37 carats, and estimated at £200,000-300,000 (minimum $263,000).

Pieces from Verdura, Harry Winston and Boucheron will also feature in the sale. One highlight includes “an Important Diamond Ring by Harry Winston, New York, circa 1968”, estimated at £180,000-250,000 (minimum $237,000). The marquise-cut diamond weighs 7.73 carats of F colour and VVS1 clarity.
