Good news from East Asia: Macau’s exports of diamond and diamond jewelry have increased 40% year-on-year from January to October 2017, totaling $72.12 million. Macau is an autonomous territory on the western side of the Pearl River in East Asia.
According to data from Macau’s Statistics and Census Service quoted in Rough & Polished, exports of diamond and diamond jewelry rose 23.7% to $2.6 million in October alone.
Imports of gold jewelry, meanwhile, increased 19.8% year-on-year to $672 million from January to October 2017. In October alone, imports in this category reached $68.19 million – up 19.9% year-on-year.
