Two teens from Akron, Ohio, set a new record for botched robberies everywhere: according to several news sources, two 14 and 16 year old boys robbed jewelry from a JC Penney store in the local mall, then flagged down police when they got too cold on their way home.
The two boys hid inside a JC Penney store in the Chapel Hill Mall after it closed, then smashed glass cases to steal the jewelry inside. To get out of the mall, the boys broke a glass door on the north side of the building. This set off an alarm, and Akron police showed up. They discovered the broken glass and missing jewelry in the store.
90 minutes later, cops from Summa Hospital called Akron police about the two teens. According to them, the two teens flagged down their officers because they were cold. Both were promptly charged with with breaking and entering, theft, criminal damaging, trespassing and carrying a concealed weapon.
