Police in Copenhagen are investigating who stole a bottle of vodka, claimed to be the world’s most expensive, from the Cafe 33 bar last Tuesday (January 2). Russian luxury car maker Russo-Baltique is reported to have created the vodka to celebrate 100th anniversary of the company’s factory, and the bottle was on loan to the Danish bar.
According to several sources, the bottle is covered in almost 3 kg of gold and almost 3 kg of silver. The front of the bottle is decorated with leather and has a replica of the radiator guard used for Russo-Baltique cars. The cap, encrusted in diamonds, is shaped like a Russian imperial eagle. The bottle is estimated to be worth $1.3 million. CCTV showed a man grab the vodka and flee the bar.
Bar owner Brian Ingberg said that the bottle once featured in an episode of House of Cards as a gift from the Russian president to the US President.
