Forbes’ 32 annual ranking of the world’s billionaires, published earlier this week, features 22 Israelis, among them three diamantaires: Dan Gertler, with an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion, is number 1991 on the list; Lev Leviev, with an estimated net worth of $1 billion, is placed at number 2189; and Beny Steinmetz, with an estimated net worth of $1 billion, reached number 2190.
The first Israeli on the list, Eyal Ofer, reached number 168 on the list (estimated net worth of $9.6 billion). The remaining Israelis on the list are Stefan “Stef” Wertheimer (estimated net worth of $5.8 billion) and Shari Arison (estimated net worth of $5.4 billion).
With an estimated net worth of $127 billion, the richest man in the world today is Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon. Bill Gates placed second on the list with an estimated net worth of $91 billion. In third place is legendary investor Warren Buffet, whose net worth is estimated at $87.7 billion.
