Russian miner Alrosa has issued its rough and polished diamond sales report for June 2017, and the first six months of 2017. According to Rough & Polished, Alrosa sold rough and polished diamonds worth $365 million in June – $354.4 million of rough, and $10.6 million of polished.
In January-June 2017, Alrosa’s rough and polished diamond sales totaled $2.497 billion. Rough diamonds were sold for $2.442 billion, polished diamonds – for $54.9 million.
ALROSA Vice President Yury Okoemov commented: “In the first half of 2017, the Company cut down finished stock due to positive rough diamond market trends. The stock structure as at the start of the year, predominantly small-size, rather inexpensive goods, had a significant impact on the sales structure. We consider the existing rough diamond market environment to be stable, though we saw a seasonal slowdown by the end of June”.
