ALROSA RAKES IN $566.6 MILLION FROM DIAMOND SALES IN MARCH

Alrosa has announced rough and polished diamond sales results for March 2017. According to the Russian miner, rough diamond sales amounted to $554.2 million, while polished diamond sales for the same period amounted to $12.4 million.

 

Total diamond sales in March 2017 totaled $566.6 million – 1% higher compared to the same period last year.

 

Yury Okoyomov, Vice President of ALROSA, said: “In March, we continue to observe stable demand in almost all categories of rough diamonds, which is a confirmation of the optimism of market participants shown during the jewelry exhibition in Hong Kong”.

 

In March, Alrosa said it expects to rake in around $1.25 billion in the first quarter of 2017. This represents a 6% drop in revenue year-on-year, and it is 47% higher than the revenue raked of the 4th quarter of 2016.
