Alrosa Reports Its September Sales as Prices Reach “2018 Levels”

Alrosa’s rough and polished diamond sales for September 2021 totaled $298 million as consumer demand reached a “record high,” IDEX Online reports. In the pre-covid era of September 2019, Alrosa sold $259 million, and in September 202 sales totaled $336 million.

According to the report, the US and China had demonstrated “double-digit growth compared with 2019, and sales in Europe were gaining momentum.”

Deputy CEO Evgeny Agureev commented: “The rough diamond price index has returned to the 2018 levels, with polished diamond prices surpassing the 2018 average. Alrosa maintains its policy of satisfying only requests backed by the real demand to ensure sustainability of the whole diamond pipeline. Our clients are mostly optimistic about the upcoming festive season, and we expect the positive trend to continue into 2022.”
