ALROSA’S NET PROFIT INCHES HIGHER IN Q2

Russian mining giant Alrosa has reported on its performance for the second quarter (April-June, 2018) and the first six months of the year.

 

According to a press release, revenue increased by 8% year-on-year to RUB 168 billion ($2.48 billion) ןמ H1 “on the back of higher average diamond selling prices and better sales mix, despite the 8% drop in sales in carats, including sales of gem-quality diamonds shrinking by 14%”. Net profit grew by 19% to RUB 58.3 billion ($860 million).

 

In Q2 2018, revenue increased 2% year-on-year to RUB 72 billion ($1.06 billion), driven by higher average selling prices, with sales down by 11% year-on-year. Net profit in Q2 went up 1% year-on-year to RUB 25.4 billion ($379.3 million).
