JEWELRY SALES PUSH RICHEMONT’S SALES UP

Richemont, owner of the Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Giampiero Bodino jewelry brands, among others, has reported a rise of 5% year-on-year for the October-December 2017 quarter. Total sales reached €1.83 billion ($2.23 billion), according to Gem Konnect.

 

The group’s jewelry brands grew 11% year-on-year, while specialty watch brands fell 4% to €781 million ($953 million) for the period. Overall, “the strong performance of the jewelry brands led the whole group to a 1% increase”, with total sales of €3.12 billion ($3.81 billion).

 

Regionally, sales in Europe declined by 1%, while the Americas enjoyed a 8% growth thanks to “good performance by the jewellery brands”. Sales increased 5% in sales in Japan, and sales in the Middle East and Africa rose 11%.
