LUKFOOK JEWELRY GROUP BOOSTS REVENUE AND PROFIT IN H1

Hong-kong based jeweler Lukfook Group has announced its performance for the six months ended September 30, 2018, showing a rise in both revenue and gross profit.

 

The jeweler reported revenue of HK$7.9 billion (about $1 billion) – a rise of 25.1% year-on-year. Gross profit increased by 13.1% to HK$1.9 billion (about $243 million). Basic earnings per share were HK$1.13 ($0.14453) – a rise of 27%. During the period, 94 new Lukfook shops were opened, bringing the total number of shops globally to 1,725.

 

Wong Wai Sheung, Chairman and CEO of Lukfook Group, said: “During the Period under review, visitor arrivals in Hong Kong and Macau increased under the improved overall economic environment. However, the market sentiment was adversely impacted by the recent US-China trade war as well as the depreciation of Renminbi. Therefore, the Group remains prudent about its business development in the second half of the financial year. Nevertheless, with the anticipated considerable growth of the middle-class population in Mainland China, the Group remains optimistic about the mid- to long-term business prospects […]”.
