ISRAELI COUPLE ARRESTED OVER MAJOR DIAMOND THEFT

An Israeli couple from Haifa has been arrested for allegedly stealing and selling stolen diamonds worth hundreds of thousands of Shekels.

 

According to local news reports, the woman is suspected of stealing diamonds from her place of work – a diamond- polishing factory in Haifa – and giving them to her husband, who owns a jewelry store in the city.

 

Police have searched the couple’s home, and found the allegedly stolen diamonds as well as documents. The couple is also suspected of money laundering and acquiring assets from the illegal proceeds of smuggled diamonds. According to the reports, the couple’s assets were frozen by the police.
