THE ISRAELI DIAMOND EXCHANGE CODE OF ETHICS

The Israeli Diamond Exchange‘s Code of Ethics, signed in a festive ceremony on April 10, 2017, places the Israeli exchange in the forefront of global practices in terms of proper administration and transparency.

The Israeli Diamond Exchange’s Code of Ethics outlines the principles by which members of the Diamond Exchange operate in the diamond industry, including responsibility, trust, providence and good fortune, fairness, integrity, expertise, tradition, business pragmatism, mutual guarantee, and more; all in the framework of human dignity and the rule of law.

The Israeli Diamond Exchange’s Code of Ethics was outlined in a specific and precise manner by Professor Asa Kasher. The code is the product of a joint effort by the “committee on core values – next generation”; The IDE’s Ethics Committee; Professor Asa Kasher, chairman of the Academic Council at the Tel Aviv Center for Ethics, professor emeritus at Tel Aviv University, Israel Prize laureate, author of the IDF Code of Ethics and other ethical codes; Professor Yitzhak Zamir, chairman of the Jerusalem Center for Ethics, retired Supreme Court justice, and winner of the Movement for Quality of Government in Israel’s Corruption Fighter Award; and Israeli Diamond Exchange members who participated in the discussions and consultations on the code as its drafting progressed.

The full Code of Ethics hangs in the lobby of the Israeli Diamond Exchange’s trading floor.
