BASELWORLD: GRAFF TO UNVEIL A WATCH WITH 60 YELLOW DIAMONDS

At the upcoming Baselworld watch and jewelry trade fair (March 21-26, 2019) Graff will present a watch paved with 60 fancy vivid yellow diamonds. In total, the weight of the watch exceeds 25 carats, and it is part of Graff’s collection of jeweled watches in this year’s Baselworld.

The diamonds are set on a yellow gold case, bracelet and dial. The bracelet is flexible – a technology that Graff has perfected in the last few years. The impressive piece was created by Graff’s London atelier worked in conjunction with Graff’s Swiss watchmaking team.

In 2018, Baselworld and the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) – which make up two of the most important watch industry trade shows – have agreed to coordinate their dates: From 2020 to 2024, the shows will run back-to-back. In recent years, both shows have been dealing with important exhibitors pulling out. According to the report, holding the shows back to back “will make travel arrangements easier while reducing travel away from business for representatives of watch companies and firms servicing them, as well as for journalists and buyers who won’t have to travel to Switzerland twice in the space of a few months”.
