GOT 150K TO SPARE? CHECK OUT THIS DIAMOND-ENCRUSTED KNIFE

US-based knife maker Sandrin Knives has come up with a truly extravagant piece for your kitchen: the Platinum Mamba Knife, featuring 320 diamonds, 11.5 ounces of platinum, and Wyoming black jade. With a price tag of $150,000, this “record breaking” knife is probable just a bit too expensive to actually use for cutting your veggies.

The one-off piece, created in collaboration with gun maker Cabot Guns, took two years to make and involved, according to Sandrin Knives, “some 50 of the world’s most skilled and talented artisans: jewelers, metallurgists, craftsmen and designers”.

The Mamba’s blade has a HRC value of 71 on the Rockwell scale, making it “harder than any steel knife ever created.” The handle is made from 11.5 ounces of platinum and inset with 320 colorless F GIA grade diamonds. Additionally, the handle is also made from rare Wyoming black jade.
