BONHAMS LONDON TO AUCTION A DIAMOND “MEANDER” TIARA

On September 26, Bonhams London will put up for sale a Belle Époque Diamond “Meander” Tiara, dated circa 1900, designed by Spanish royal jeweller Ansorena and owned by Spanish noblewoman Esperanza Chávarri Aldecoa, Countess of Villagonzalo.

The the tiara is estimated at £80,000-120,000 ($103,290-$154890). It has previously been exhibited at the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Madrid and is expected to “attract global interest”, according to Bonhams.

The “garland style” diamond tiara is designed as a double diadem that can be detached to form two separate tiaras, one of which is designed to be further converted to form a choker. It is mounted in platinum and features diamonds of approximately 33.50 carats in total.
