EXCEPTIONAL WHITE DIAMOND ARRIVES AT BONHAMS

Bonhams’ last fine jewelry sale of 2018 in London on December 5 will include some unique stones. One of them is a 24.31-carat, step-cut diamond, graded D colour and Internally Flawless. According to Diamond World, the stone comes from a private collection, has never been offered at auction, and is estimated to fetch $1,700,000 – $2,300,000.

Emily Barber, Director of Jewellery at Bonhams UK, commented: “This diamond is a magnificent gem, not only due to its significant size – top-quality diamonds over 20 carats are very rare – but also due to its internal flawless clarity and its exceptional white color”.

Another highlighted gem is a marquise-cut Fancy Intense Blue diamond, weighing 1.03-carats, mounted on a ring made by Boodles. The diamond is estimated to fetch $190,000 – $260,000. The sale will also include some sapphires from Kashmir, including a sapphire and diamond brooch from the late 19th century, estimated at $160,000 – $230,000.
