Sales of watches and jewelry in the US, published by IDEX Online, were “marginally higher” in September compared to August. Monthly sales year-to date are averaging $113 million, compared with $76 million during the whole of 2021.
When compared to September 2021, sales of watches and jewelry rose by just under 32%, a rise which is “largely a reflection of Covid impact in 2021.” Sales of all jewelry in the US were up 32.3% and watches were up 30.3% year-on-year.
According to IDEX Online, “overall retail is booming in the US.” The figures for September, the report claims, “indicate steady trade ahead of the seasonal rush. We expect some increase next month, with enduring consumer demand and Christmas just round the corner.”
