India: Malabar Jewelry Group Opens “World’s Biggest Jewelry Showroom”

Malabar Gold and Diamonds, one of the largest jewelry retailer chains of in the world, has opened the world’s largest jewelry showroom “at 110,000sq ft.,” accordion to an IDEX Online report.

 

The “artistry store” was opened in Kochi, India, on May 7, and offers “a totally different experience to the customers, providing them information on design development and manufacturing,” the company said.

 

However, the claim made by the new Malabar store of being the largest in the world may be disputed. According to IDEX Online, Tiffany & Co’s flagship 10-floor store on Fifth Avenue in New York, which recently reopened after undergoing significant renovations, also covers an area of 110,000 square feet.

 

In addition, Gems Gallery, in Pattaya, Thailand, also claims “it is the largest jewelry store in the world, at 163,611sq ft, although that includes a manufacturing unit.”
