Organizers of the VICENZAORO September show in Italy have reported a 13% increase in Italy’s exports of precious jewelry in the first six months of the year, for a total of $3.57 billion.
According to IDEX Online, the show recorded a 23% rise in buyers to 14,385 from 115 countries, generating an attendance of 23,176 people – a rise of 20%.
According to Rough & Polished, the September VicenzaOro show is “the last showcase of Italian gold and silver jewelry before the festive season”. According to the same report,the black-and-white look in jewelry “is becoming more popular, including black diamonds. Darker and warmer tones in diamonds are also getting more play”.
The fourth annual Global Powers of Luxury Goods report, which was published in May, said Italy is “the leading luxury goods country in terms of number of companies”, while France enjoys the highest share of sales.
