Bonhams California Jewels sale, scheduled for July 20, will auction diamond jewelry that belonged to Sammy Davis Jr., IDEX Online reports.
Bonhams will offer five lots which belonged to the iconic American singer, actor and comedian, among them a gold and diamond solitaire ring estimated at $30,000-$40,000; a Fancy brown diamond ring estimated at $7,000-9,000; and an 18k bi-color gold, diamond and enamel monogram necklace estimated at $6,000-$8,000.
According to the report, in 1967 Davis “became the first black man to be featured on the cover of GQ, wearing a tailored ensemble and a large gold ring”.
