FROM THE GRAMMYS TO MOM’S JEWELRY: THE STORY OF ED SHEERAN

Born in West Yorkshire, England in 1991, Ed Sheeran is one of the most popular solo music acts in the world, and one of the best-selling acts in UK history. His debut album “+”, released in September of 2011, has been certified seven-times platinum in the UK. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

He gained momentum in the US in 2012, when he made a guest appearance on Taylor Swift’s fourth studio album, “Red”. He then opened for Swift on her North American tour in 2013, including three sold-out shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden. His second studio album, “X” (2014), reached #1 in both the US and the UK, and won Sheeran two Grammy Awards at the 2016 ceremony. Sheeran’s third album, “÷”, will be released in March 2017.

While Sheeran himself has an everyman, understated style in clothes and jewelry, he is a big fan of his mother’s – Imogen Sheeran – line of affordable jewelry. Imogen began to sell her handmade pieces at her son’s concerts as early as 2010, and according to several sources, has hit it big with Sheeran’s many fans.

Some of her necklaces, bracelets and earrings are made using recycled materials. Imogen’s jewelry are all handmade, and some pieces are inspired by her son’s lyrics. On her website, Imogen sells two collections – called “Imogen’s Jewelry” and “Ed’s Jewelry”. In both collections, she sells necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings, all ranging from £8 to £35.
