A fancy intense pink-purple diamond ring weighing 7.00 carats is expected to fetch between $3.25 and $4.25 million at a Sotheby’s auction to be held on December 11 in New York. The auction will feature several extraordinary fancy-colored diamonds, as reported by IDEX Online.
According to the report, the Magnificent Jewels auction will also include a pendant necklace set with fancy vivid yellow diamonds weighing a total of 69.02 carats, which is expected to fetch $2.5–3.5 million. Additionally, a ring set with a 10.33-carat ruby is estimated to sell for between $1 and $2 million.
In another Sotheby’s auction held on November 13 in London, a historic diamond necklace previously owned by Marie Antoinette sold for $4.8 million—far exceeding the pre-sale estimates of around $2.8 million. The necklace features over 300 carats of diamonds, which are believed to have originated from the famous Golconda mines in India.
In a recent auction held in Geneva, the auction house Phillips sold a ring featuring a Burmese ruby weighing 17.97 carats for $5.4 million—just below the upper end of its pre-sale estimate.
Christie’s also held an auction on November 12, which included several exceptional items. Two standout pieces were the Aga Khan emerald, weighing 37.41 carats and set in a Cartier gold and platinum brooch alongside 12 carats of white diamonds, which fetched $8.8 million; and a Cartier Art Deco diamond necklace, which sold for just over $5 million—nearly 3.5 times the high pre-sale estimate.
