Sotheby’s Hong Kong is back with its Magnificent Jewels sale at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on July 10, marking the return of live jewellery auctions in Asia.
Sotheby’s HK Magnificent Jewels will feature over 200 lots “of world class gemstones and statement signed jewels”, according to a press release quoted by Diamond World. The auction will be led by a pair of exceptionally rare Fancy Vivid colored diamond rings, offered separately: a 5.04 carat Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond Ring, estimated to sell for $7,700,000 – 9,700,000, and a 4.49 carat Fancy Vivid Pink diamond, estimated to sell for $7,500,000 – 8,800,000. Both diamonds are cut into heart shapes.
Another auction highlight is a 19th century diamond bracelet signed by Garrard – the London-based jeweler to the British crown – and gifted to Princess Margaret, the Queen’s sister, on her 21st Birthday. More notable jewels include a pair of Colombian Emerald and Diamond Earrings from Harry Winston ($1,550,000 – 1,940,000), the famed ‘Zip’ necklace from Van Cleef & Arpels ($310,000 – 451,000), and an art deco brooch by Cartier from its famed Tutti Frutti series ($155,000 – 207,000).
