AUSTRALIA’S STAR: THE STORY OF CATE BLANCHETT

Born in 1969, Cate Blanchett has been Australia’s most valuable export ever since. The Australian actress has two Oscars, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and three British Academy Awards. She gained international fame after her role as Elizabeth I in the 1998 film Elizabeth, and has since played in many hit films, among them The Aviator, Blue Jasmine, Notes on a Scandal and most recently – Carol.

Blanchett is married to playwright and screenwriter Andrew Upton. The couple has four children, including one daughter they adopted in 2015.

Blanchett’s style in jewelry is eclectic, and according to a Vogue piece dedicated to the subject, she’s been known to wear Chopard diamonds, statement necklaces and graphic ear cuffs. At the 2016 Academy Awards, in which she was nominated for Best Actress, she wore a diamond necklace, a diamond ring and diamond earrings, all sourced from Tiffany’s 2016 Blue Book.
