TAG HEUER LAUNCHES AUTAVIA-INSPIRED WATCH

Yesterday (November 19, 2017) TAG Heuer celebrated Jack Heuer’s 85th birthday. In honor of the company’s founder, who was born in 1932, TAG Heuer has launched a limited edition, limited to 1932 pieces of the famous new Autavia watch.

 

Heuer created the original model back in 1962: “It is one of my proudest achievements to have successfully converted chronographs into the Autavia wristwatch in 1962, so this collection has a special place in my heart. it was the very first timepiece that i designed […]”, Heuer said in a statement.

 

The new TAG Heuer Autavia Jack Heuer is 42mm in diameter – slightly larger than the 39mm sported in the original watch. It is crafted in stainless steel and features a black aluminium bi-directional 12-hour bezel. The watch is powered by the Heuer-02 automatic chronograph caliber with 80 hours of power reserve. The Heuer logo is on the dial. All the retail pieces but one, which was auctioned in Geneva, have a $5,900 price tag.
