Tiffany & Co. has introduced one of its most intricate timepieces, the white gold Bird on a Flying Tourbillon, priced at $305,000. Inspired by the iconic Bird on a Rock design, this limited-edition watch is available in only 25 pieces, according to IDEX Online.
The design draws from Jean Schlumberger’s renowned “Bird on a Rock” brooch, created for Tiffany & Co. in 1965. The watch is adorned with 848 diamonds totaling 4 carats and includes a 0.42-carat solitaire diamond as the winding crown.
Featuring a flying tourbillon mechanism, a hallmark of high-end mechanical watches, the Bird on a Flying Tourbillon counters the effects of gravity on accuracy and appears to float within the watch face. This is visible under a dome of faceted sapphire crystal.
