Gold and platinum tiara adorned with 367 diamonds that once belonged to a duchess has been stolen from a state museum

367-DIAMOND TIARA STOLEN FROM GERMAN MUSEUM

A gold-and-platinum tiara adorned with 367 diamonds was stolen from the Badisches Landesmuseum in the city of Karlsruhe, Germany. According to several news sources, the tiara, which was one owned by a princess, was valued at $1.31 million.

 

German police said that the theft was discovered on April 29, and the tiara was stolen from a locked cabinet in the museum’s “throne room”.

 

The tiara once belonged to Princess Hilda Charlotte Wilhelmine of Nassau, who lived from 1864 to 1952. She was the last Grand Duchess of Baden.
