Actor Lily James Visits Botswana as NDC Global Ambassador

British actor Lily James visited diamond mines and other diamond-related operations in Botswana as part of her new role as global ambassador for the Natural Diamond Council (NDC)

The Emmy-nominated actor, known mainly for her role as Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy and Lady Rose Aldridge in Downton Abbey, visited Lucara’s Karowe Diamond Mine, the De Beers Global Sightholder Sales facility in Gaborone, and KGK Diamonds cutting and polishing facility, also in Gaborone.

“I’ve been awestruck by the natural beauty and the vibrant communities I’ve seen in Botswana,” says James in a press release. “To know so much of this land—over 1,000 square miles globally is protected by the natural diamond industry makes me incredibly proud to be the NDC’s Global Ambassador.”
