ALROSA TO HOLD TWO DIAMOND AUCTIONS AT HK FAIR

Russian mining giant Alrosa will hold two auctions at the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show (February 27 to March 3) – one for rough stones and the other for polished diamonds.

 

The rough auction will consist of special size rough diamonds over 10.8 carats. 121 gem quality lots will be put up for sale, with a total weight of 1949 carats. The weight of the largest diamond is 47.08 carats. The polished auction will consist of 87 polished diamonds of different types of cut – 63 gemstones of a standard color range and 24 fancy yellow pieces. The total weight of is 284 carats, with the biggest diamond (a standard round cut shape) weighing 20.63 carats.

 

According to Yury Okoemov, Deputy CEO of Alrosa, “more than 80 companies have been registered to participate in the auction”. Pavel Vinikhin, Director of DIAMONDS ALROSA, said: “We have invited customers from Hong Kong, China, USA, Belgium, Israel and India, and prepared for them an interesting assortment consisting not only of standard color diamonds, but fancy colors as well”.
